AirAsia launches Promotion on Perth - Bali Flights

AirAsia is preparing to launch its latest international route with direct daily flights between Perth and the exotic Indonesian island destination of Bali.

Seats for the new route are now available from IDR429,000 (A$139 nett). For Indonesia, the fare quoted is excluding airport tax and administration fees, for one way travel only. For Australia, the fare includes airport tax and administration fees, for one way travel only. The booking period is until 10 May, 2009 for travel between 17 July 2009 and 31 January 2010. (more…)

Pantai Lima, a cluster of five luxury villas on the west coast of Bali, is the first development built by former Hong Kong derivatives trader Mathias Echene and his wife, Gaelle.

“Pantai Lima is not just another cookie cutter-estate where villas are identical to one another and shoe-horned into a tiny plot of land,” said Mr. Echene, who left his job as Asia head of derivative structuring for Calyon, the investment banking arm of the Crédit Agricole Group, in 2006. (more…)

Airline reveals ‘free’ Bali flights

Bali develops consolidation farming program

Bali is adopting a consolidation farm (CF) program on Subak Anggabaya in East Denpasar to enhance the province’s rice-sustainability.

I Gede Ambara Putra, head of the agriculture office, said this is the newest national program in the agricultural sector. He said the program focused on strengthening and integrating the agricultural sector, ranging from the improvement of irrigation infrastructure, technical assistance for farmers, to the distribution and marketing of the harvest yields. Indonesia’s March tourist arrivals up 1.9 pct from yr ago

JAKARTA, May 1 (Reuters) - Indonesia’s foreign tourist arrivals rose just 1.9 percent in March from a year ago, data showed on Friday, as a global economic slowdown curbed foreign travel.

Tourism accounts for about 3 percent of gross domestic product in Southeast Asia’s biggest economy, but some areas, including the resort island of Bali, are heavily dependent on tourism for jobs and growth. (more…)

Indonesia Needs To Open Tourism Centers Abroad

YOGYAKARTA, April 29 (Bernama) — Indonesia needs to open tourism information centres abroad to support tourism promotion in various sectors, Indonesian Tourism Humanity Friendship Forum (Fosipa) chairman H Sarbini said here on Wednesday.

“It is time for the government to open tourism information centers at every Indonesian embassy to net more foreign tourists visiting Indonesia,” Antara news agency quoted Sarbini as saying. (more…)

No Takers For Route From Bali To Darwin

The Bali-Darwin route abandoned by flag carrier Garuda Indonesia seems to have no takers.

Transportation Minister Jusman Syafii Djamal said on Tuesday that he regretted the flag carrier’s April 2 decision to stop all flights linking Denpasar, Bali, with Darwin, Australia, but added that the ministry would offer the route to other airlines . (more…)

TRUNYAN, Indonesia (AFP) - Bali’s rapid development as a tourist destination has transformed the island’s culture, but in the isolated village of Trunyan the dead bear witness to centuries of unbroken tradition.
